The History of Christianity

Christianity originally began in the first century A.D. in Jerusalem. It started off as a religion that was heavily persecuted but later became the state religion of the Roman Empire. Christianity would eventually spread to become, at one point, the worlds largest religion. Disputes within the church have resulted in many distinct sects of christianity.

I thought that it was really interesting that at first it was being persecuted but now is the state religion of the roman empire.

You touch very breifly on the fact that it was originally prosecuted. Maybe their is more to add? Perhaps something about why, exactly, it as prosecuted, and what shifted it into being the state religion of the Roman Empire.
